M AND L TRANSPORT M&L Transport of PA LLC /FINAL LINE TRANSPORT

We have got a load from Final line Transport from QC for $7500. Final line got it from M and L transport based out of NY for $6500 and doubled brokered to us. As everyone knows about Final Line by now(SCAM). Final line is not picking up the phone calls. We called M and L Transport and they know about final line by now.

But they refused to pay us stating that they have contract with Final Line Transport not with us. We forward them all the thread posted here on this forum about Final Line Transport but they still said they will pay final line but they did not get any paperwork from final line transport.


Please advise!
 
Is this M&L out of Rome, NY? If so...they are good people over there. I'd ask for their controller or speak to Camille there.

If you aren't getting anywhere - hold the load. Someone will eventually come looking for it - and deal with that company directly. It is likely triple brokered. We've been in that situation also unfortunately. Trying to find out who owns the freight and ensure payment. We ended up holding it - someone found us...

So sit tight - hopefully you can resolve with M&L directly...

Yeah it is M &L out of Rome ,NY. We have delivered the load already 45 days ago and we found it a weeks after we delivered the load and we Made M&L aware of the situation with regards to final line. At that point M and L told us we have to wait 30 days. Now Debra Cunnigham at M&L is telling us they cannot pay us as we are not a contracted carrier by them. They did not pay Final Line either as final Line could not provide them load paperwork. Please advise
 
Final Line will be pushing for payment from M&L. Tell M&L to advise Final to pay the delivering carrier (you) and once you show payment received by Final - then M&L can release their cheque to them.

M&L can't hold monies from both the contracted agent AND the delivering carrier. Too bad you still weren't sitting on the freight. M&L will be on the hook for paying again - should they pay Final and monies aren't passed onto you. They are fully aware of that...

Hold onto your paperwork - I assume you have given no POD's to Final yet. Have you got the shipper involved also named on the BOL? Time to get all parties in the loop here as to what is going on....

We informed all the parties to this shipment Including Shipper, Consignee(Courtney Berg, Calgary,AB) and M and L . Consignee said he is not liable , shipper(chicago tube) is saying call M and L. M and L did not pay Final Line as they could not get paperwork from them and We forward out company bill of lading as well as shipper bill of lading to M and L. Debra at M and L stopped picking up our phone calls. Today she replied to my 4th request through email that we are not the contracted carrier and they are not liable to us. They did not pay Final Line either(she confirmed).

The contact name(Camille)you provided us to help us, we contacted her and made her aware of the situation. Lets see . Really appreciate your feedback.
 
M & L are decent people, just a little behind in keeping up with who they give freight to. Maybe send them a copy Final Line credit report ( Baxter Bailey has Fianl on DNU list) Ask M & L if you can be set up on their carrier list, then maybe they will pay you direct. You must insist that your driver signed the bill showing you as the Carrier of Record and that failing a resolve to the situation you would have to forward this to collections on the shipper. ( No contract so you can't file on their bond, If you do set up you can possibly file on their bond ) Lots of luck, I do believe M & L will come to the table just be persistant but respecting their situation as well

Isn't contract is void when a carrier gets the load from a broker and then double brokered it to some other carrier. Contract of M and L with Final line becomes void when Final line has doubled brokered to us. Especially Debra at m and L told us that Final line did not approach them for payment as Final line know by now that everyone knows about their scam. Why cant M and L pay the carrier who burned a lot of fuel to deliver this load. Usually the broker will pay to the carrier who actually delivers the load under this kind of conflict.
