I'm hoping this is the correct forum for this. I'm considering leaving my current company. I have been with them for just over 3 years but some recent events have made me think about leaving.

I have 4yrs experience with everywhere from Quebec city to Vancouver to San Diego, Laredo, Miami and everything in between winter and summer. I run 95% dry van but have taken an occasional reefer load. I like to run hard and far. Actual long haul is the goal. I am looking for a carrier that is mainly FTL, will allow a dog, pays benefits, pays more than .40/mile, runs newer reliable equipment, let's me run 3-4 weeks then take 6-7 days off but isn't one of the major corporate greed, giant company types.

I live in Barrie but I'm not afraid of driving as far as Cambridge to get to work. Hopefully you guys can give me a few names that may be worth looking into. I know I'm not going to get everything I want but respect and flexibility are my main concerns. Let me know who you can come up with or contact me directly if you are one if them.

Thanks folks.

Have to vouch for F1 Freight....great bunch of people there. Good equipment, good service.

Be sure you hook up with a 'good' carrier so you can both grow your business together and focus on the 2 priorities - service the customer, make money. If looking for long haul and a long career, consider Garry Mercer but definitely talk to Rodney @ F1. Also, give George @ Pace Marathon a call.

Happy Friday,
Mike

I have narrowed down to 2. "If" I leave where I am I'm thinking either F1 (just unsure if the LTL factor) or Shandex. Opinions?
