Hi All,
I am looking for dry van freight for Oct 8th or 9th.
MN/ND/SD/IA to ON.
Can anyone help me out?

I called KOCH but they don't have anything right now.
Great lead - thanks again!

Still looking for help with this. Willing to pick up on the weekend, if needed.
Not having much luck on this lane this time around. I book a load then it gets cancelled. Has happened several times over the last few days.
All suggestions are welcome!

I don't like being a negative Nancy but I don't think much is going to change immediately after the election. Like anything else, it will take some time before we start to notice any significant changes "on the ground" (if any at all). Just praying that this recession is a short one......

We are not in a recession there are no loads because of the dollar, people are being very careful of inventory levels because of the exchange. Any manufacturer we deal with in Canada are booming which does not help when the inbound is and will continue to be slow. Get use to it as it will be quite some time before the dollar changes and until it does the inbound will suck.

lowmiler88,

I agree with you on every point below (I'm sure that most members would). That being said, there's been a 5 cent swing in the last 2 weeks which is hard to ignore if you have a portion of US receivables.

I find a great balance of inbound/outbound in the $1.17-$1.20 exchange rate range. I recall not hearing about parked trucks which is good for keeping the rates fair for everyone.

Keep well,
Mike

You kind of sound like Harper and his campaign blah blah... There is a recession going on and it started before the dollar started falling... I could tell the people who worked in the different shops in the vicinity that there is no recession. That the shop closed up for other reasons than the lack of orders but, I'm very sure they won't believe me either. And to boot, the US companies we deal with have lowered their rates because, quote 'our dollar is worth more now'...

Sorry Martin I have to agree with Lowmiler. Sounds like you like to drink the medias koolaid. The only reason our numbers are slipping and showing a so called recession is Alberta and the energy sector. Every shipper I have is balls to the walls busy and hiring. All of my buddies that own companies are hiring and cannot find good people to work. Outbound freight is plentiful as hell just try selling some right now. I will agree we are in an inbound recession but as LM said it is the dollar.

I'm biting my tongue on this. Don't want to be told by someone I'm off topic or even worse, that my comments have been removed ... Once the elections are over we should finally get much closer to the truth... If not, I'm moving to a desert island in the pacific where I won't have to hear the blah blah blah... ;)

I think the reason why outbound is hard to sell is because we had a good harvest and there is a trickle down. But don't be fooled ... there is no renaissance of Ontario manufacturing happening, although the ones that are left are enjoying the low dollar.
