Hello Friends

Does anyone use any log book auditing software for drivers?

If yes, could you please tell us which one and why?

Thanks

I haven't found any software...I outsource them to Stateside Consulting in Mississauga. Fellow named Jay there does a fantastic job. If this interests you, his number is 905-696-7228.

Cheers

We use a company called Integrated Training resources in Milton.(905-693-0660)
They do everything from log auditing with receipts to drivers files and preparing for an audit. We found that outsourcing was more cost effective than investing in a program and having the manpower to enter the information in the system.

I have used the JJ Keller system and it works well. The system calculates hours violations based on the grid lines you enter however you will need someone that knows what is required on a log to do the entering. (form and manner)

Hope this helps.

How much does JJ Keller's system cost?

Price

It was a few years ago but if I remember correctly we paid $1200.00. You then need to pay every year for CDN and U.S. rules. It was ok - but it is true - you need someone that knows all the other stuff that needs to be filled in.

Used to do them internally with JJKeller logchecker. We paid $799 + $100 U.S. for the Cdn. rule set. We had 225+ drivers. We switched to the scanner version but it seemed to take longer than manual entry. We had to correct all of the things the software couldn't read (i.e. bad handwriting or drawing the grid line in between times).

We switched a few years ago - received cost comparisons from a variety of companies and decided on Logchek (Veritrans). Great price. We just switched over to MAP Professional Services (905-930-7695). Their price was good but they also offer training support and customized the program to work for us. We did away with our log clerk when we contracted out - we no longer have the time to speak to each driver about his/her logs. They help us with the ones that need extra training (at a cost) but at least it is helping reduce our violations.

Rapid log seems good as well as TDSM.

KellerScan by J.J. Keller

We use KellerScan by J.J. Keller. It works great and is neither difficult nor cumbersome. A couple things to keep in mind though ... 1) buy a good scanner dedicated to logs only. We use a Kodak I30. 2) Use Keller's loose leaf logs and spend the time to tweak the scanner.

We use Innovative Fleet Management IFM in Burlington, 905-631-1800, They review logs, provide reports and train our new drivers, they schedule review sessions for drivers if needed. They are also a driver check location and will get involved as little or as much as you require in reviews, driver manuals etc. Well worth the monthly fee.
