Hello,

I'm looking to see if anyone here (carriers) delivers to Loblaws Regina.

I understand that Distribution Centres are never good. We're currently arranging transportation into the Walmart's, Shoppers Drug Marts and such already. And we're up front with our shippers that almost every shipment will have waiting time charges. I get that.

However, recently we've received letters from some carriers saying that there is a surcharge just to deliver to Loblaws Regina of up to 350.00 per truck load (wait time is to be calculated on top of this surcharge). One carrier has outright refused to take any shipments to this destination.

Does anyone know what the deal is there? Is it really that bad?

Again, we currently don't have anything going there. But... I'd like to be somewhat educated on this place should anything come up.

Thanks.

I know many who have ceased delivering to Wal-Mart due to their $1000 fines. If you miss their appointment time - even by a few minutes - due to "waiting" in the truck line for a door - the fine applies.

I believe the fine for Shopper's Drug Mart is $500.

Quite costly...

I have seen Loblaws in Toronto Fine $300 for late arrival, maybe thats why the carrier charges the $350 to be safe.

Looks like a good excuse to refuse to transport freight to any of them. to be penalized for something that isn't in the carrier's control is piracy. No wonder Wally world's prices are so low. trucking covers the loss in profits.

Nawk we do quite a bit of ltl, some large into this DC and yes most will not deal with them at all. We have found that they will book you in then when you show up only to be turned away as they can't handle what they booked or just don't need what you have...................then other days no waiting time in/out quick as a bunny crazy just crazy and no real rime or reason to it. We ended up finding a local guy that does great job and has in with them
