So, does anyone have a suggestion on how to make a shipper understand that not all equipment is loaded in the same way if we want to balance the load properly. Twice this week. Two different shippers who, when the driver has told them that they were improperly loaded, replied ' Well, that's how we load all trucks and you are the only ones to complain.' We've even got one this afternoon who told the driver that if he unloaded him he would do it exactly the same. 44000 lbs loaded on 43 feet in a 53 foot dry van being pulled by a 1998 peterbilt...Our driver, who is a very patient man, has tried to explain to him but this guy is just not listening or should I say he doesn't want to hear it. We have called and spoken to the lady in shipping and her answer is 'Well, there's nothing I can do. Our lift guy must know what he's doing'... I was thinking that I could draw up a letter for them to sign, accepting all responsibilities for fines, damages to the truck, or God forbid, deaths caused by the major accident that could be caused.
