Kode Transport

Kode took a load for me just before Easter. The pick up was on Good Friday. That morning they called and said they couldn't pick up because they couldn't get their truck unloaded unless I could find them a cross dock. I found them a cross dock and they decided they couldn't cross dock the freight so we arranged pick up for Monday. On Monday, the truck went in to pick up and once it was 1/2 loaded (floor loaded) the driver decided his truck needed maintenence work done and he told them to unload everything. I later found out that it WAS NOT a Kode Transport truck. Kode sent me a letter agreeing to pay any charges incurred from the mispick and the load and unload. We received an invoice from the shipper for almost $1000 and forwarded it to Kode as per their letter. They assured me that a cheque would be cut May 22nd. I emailed on May 23 to make sure and got no response and then I saw the posts on here. I tried to call and there was no answer and so I checked link...last connect date was May 21. I called again today and the phones are disconnected. Now we are stuck with the $1000 invoice from the shipper. Any info on Kode would be greatly appreciated!

Wish I knew of this site earlier

We just realized that we won't be seeing the money that Kode Transport owes us either.

I logged a complaint with link logistics as they are showing an excellent rating which is one of the reasons we did business with them.

Very frustrating that they deliberately got a mailbox at UPS to continue defrauding companies. I called the UPS office to see if I could get any info but I doubt I will hear back.

You would think that using a mailbox # to deliberately defraud companies of money would be illegal.

Anyway....sorry about the venting...this just happened today.....I really am glad that this forum is out there and hopefully, we can prevent others from experiencing the same situation.

Waterloo Regional Police and one of the forces in Toronto have started a criminal investigation of fraud against the owners of the company.
 
I found their phone & fax #'s were also being used by Global Village Trading.
I've gone to the Global Village Trading current site and the phone & fax #'s are different.
I emailed and faxed Simon Salchi at Global Village re our outstanding Kode Transport invoice from April but haven't heard anything yet.
I'm assuming it's the same company operating under different names at this point.
 
When we called them on the 5% they claimed it was a dispatcher who is no longer there and that they are paying us back on the next cheque run. We will wait and see, it is worth noting they did call us back.

Who did you call and when?
Do you have a current number for Kode Transport?
It would be nice to get paid for our invoice!
 
My apologies it was Concord Freight my receivables person was going from memory on the name. Sorry.
 
Kode has disapeared. Im pretty sure the owner left the country. It seemed to be a long scam in the making. Perfected their credit. Took out a bunch of loans and took off.
