:(I was just made aware of something that was very disturbing to hear, Jay Sterling of Jays Truck and Trailer located in Windsor Ontario, did the most un-forseeable thing that a human could possibly do. Like a business owner he has alot of customers but this one was special and thought of Jay not only as a mechanic but also a friend. This gentleman passed away one week ago and JUST one day after Jay Sterling found out about the passing of this young father, son, brother, grandfather, co-worker etc...he reached out to a Baliff immediately to have his so called friends truck reposessed even before the funeral. He is a complete heartless man and I hope that all of you that are reading this will think twice before having your vehicle serviced there....we will never recommend Jay Sterling of Jays Truck and Trailer again!!!!!:(:(:(:mad

Google-ing the address comes up the same as Moe's Transport. I wonder if there's a connection.

Sethavery - Business and friendship do not mix. I am sure there is more to this story. There was most likely an outstanding debt prior to the death of this individual that was not caused by this business. Many business owners are struggling to stay afloat and feed their families during these tough times. Desperation can bring out the worst in people however you must understand business decisions can not be made personal. Your story leaves me saddened but not for your perception of the events.

Morals?

Business is business you are right!! I guess morals mean nothing to you!!!!
All he had to do was wait till the guy's funeral and talk to the family i am pretty sure he wouldve been able to repo the truck after every thing was done.i am pretty sure a dead guy cant hide a truck or drive to a lot without telling Mr sterling.
I am saddened by your comment TRUCK IT!!! and i sorry for you.

What has this got to do with morals? If you have a business debt settle it in a timely manner. Do you really think he wants this guy's truck? The whole situation was not the doing of the repair shop guy, he has probably already waited months. Do you think his bank cares whether or not a customer/friend died. It is heartless but wake up that's business in big boy world. Neither you or I know all the details but death does not excuse you . There are 3 sides to all stories.

BIG BOY WORLD???
Sorry for having morals and CLASS!!!!! This conversation is over!!!
Goodbye

I just wonder how much longer the shop owner would have had to wait to get his debt settled once the lawyers got involved in finalizing the estate. Not being a lawyer, I have no idea where a Mechanics Lien places in estate wrap-ups. In any event, a tragic end to a very sad story.

Jays

This man died suddenly from a massive heart attack, therefore he had no time to settle his accounts. I will make it known that he was paying off his bill monthly and also note that Mr. Sterling did express interest in keeping the truck himself. He did not contact the family to advise them that there was an outstanding invoice..and to give them the opportunityto pay him off...he simply called a bailiff and had it repo'd a few hours after finding out that this man had passed. In turn it is going to cost the family more money to redeem the truck after paying bailiff costs, towing and storage fee's. Jay Sterling is far from a compassionate man!!! Being a business man is one thing but making a family having to deal with the death of a loved one suffer further is just plain cruel. He should be ashamed of himself!!!
