Hi everyone,
Just wondered if anyone out there can give me a lead on how to speak with someone in the accounts payable department at Hunt's in newfoundland. I keep getting transfered to what end's up a voice mail. We have an invoice from the end of June. Originally, I was told that the person was on vacation, returning Sept. 8. Still no luck though. Always voice mail...

I would call them back and ask for the OWNER. Forget trying to get a hold of A/P.

Let him/her be advised of the issues you are having and that you require their direct assistance to get the 'delinquent' account rectified. If reception puts you thru to another VM - call back and don't be afraid to ask for the owner's cell phone. In most cases - he/she has no idea what is going on with their internal A/P. And the matter will be dealt with promptly. Owners never like these kinds of calls....

It would seem that they are not paying us because we cannot supply them with a letter, in English, from the CSST. I have tried to expain to them that THEY have to request this letter because of the language laws in Quebec. These laws prevent us, as a company based in Quebec, from getting this letter for them in English... The owner doesn't answer my calls or return my messages

I would call the Cambridge ontario office and ask for Frank. Tell him you want to speak to Greer Hunt

Martinetav have someone make a translation of the said letter and provide it with your original with on top saying ''translation from original'' we have this letter for forwarded with every request and we have no issues.
It is actually somebody from the CSST office that told us to make it that way... (we actually spoke with somebody with a brain instead of a computer we talked to...)

We have furnished the falsified letter... we are an honest transport company and did not appreciate having to procede that way. The letter that they were asking for is NOT the letter that we get. It is the letter that they would get if they took the time to ask for it. As a company in the Province of Quebec, we live with certain restrictions. upload_2014-9-25_15-28-23.png

And people ask me why I'd move away from the great city of Montreal where I lived for 14 years growing up (and speaking 3 languages including French).
This is a fine example.
I feel the same with religion, you can't 'force' culture on people. Anyway, this is not the place for my rant, so I'll stop here.

Keep well,
Mike

But, Mike Jr, the letter they were asking for is not one we can get. The one that they wanted is the one that is for companies that are hiring us. I explained this to them very clearly. I also furnished the information of where to make the request. IF they had taken the time to request it, they would have received it, in english. In other words, they were requesting something that was impossible for US to get in any language. AND if they had made this request when we negotiated the load, BEFORE it was time to pay up, we wouldn't have taken the load in the first place. They made this a condition of payment well after the load was done. We have been around for over 25 years. In that time NEVER has any other company made that request, nor made it a condition for payment. NOT EVEN THE AMERICAINS.
We don't have to like the laws, but, we do have to live with them. and I'm so not into this separatiste, raciste way of doing things. Be it in or outside Quebec. Hunt's could very well turn this on us and say that we are not an honest carrier...

I hear your frustration. Most importantly, your customer is coming up with BS excuses to delay payment from you, English version from CSST? Come on.

I hope you get paid,
Mike

Yes we have been paid. But, if I had not produced the FAKE CSST letter, they would not have paid us. I don't get it though, I produced a fake letter that has NO VALUE as far as the CSST is concerned and we got paid. The VALID one, in French was 'TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE'. Looks like the separatists are not only in Quebec ...
