Does Anyone Recognize This Carrier?
Hi, I am a broker from Canada who was helping a new customer with our first load. I booked the load with a new carrier who had an official carrier package and COI. I ran their US DOT and MC through Saferweb and everything checked out. Turns out, they just took a legitimate companies information and used it as their own, posing as a real company. They picked up from the shipper and then the load disappeared. I am currently working with the police to track down this shipment and was wondering if anyone could identify this carrier?
I don't think this carrier was aware that this was a double brokered load that was stolen and believe they had been lied to as well. All I want to know is who this carrier is so I can contact them to see where they delivered the freight because it was not to my consignee.
Please help me! This is the first time this has happened to me and it honestly sucks...
Conveniently, the company they were pretending to be that actually exists is Real Transport.

FYI, the shipment was loaded in Chino, CA.

Post the USDOT/MC that you have. What was the final destination?
Take a look at this post.

I've seen this logo before; actually, there's a simple and quick way to prevent these issues. It requires the shipper and receiver delivery to take photos (truck and freight) and swiftly send them to the broker for verification before allowing the truck driver to depart.

New carriers can offer you reasonable prices, and new brokers can bring in high prices. All newcomers need to survive. But now I see that the problems are not brought by newcomers. It's just that some old hands can't survive and end up going all in.

One of the signs that appears when there is a shortage of freight, is some carriers accepting more shipments than they can handle with their own assets. In a slow economy, no one wants to turn down any opportunity to increase their revenue and turn a profit. It is more important than ever that brokers ensure they are dealing with reputable, professional carriers with whom they have an honest and transparent business relationship. This is not always possible when dealing with a new entity.

In simple terms, new drivers who have just graduated from driving school for two years have far fewer records of traffic accidents compared to those with two years of driving experience, because new drivers tend to be more cautious behind the wheel

I would hope so, because chances are they don't have adequate WSIB coverage in their new Driver Inc job. lol
