Like almost daily people plow into stopped emergency vehicles with full lighting systems activated. Waste of money that will accomplish nearly nothing. How about we just pay attention?

Those lights are just plain annoying and distracting to be following at night.
A well placed hammer fixes them easily though

Blinky lights are not nice. I've always said that there should be a light bar on the back of vehicles that shows how hard the brake is being pressed. The harder your brakes are pressed, the more lights are lit. That way when you're on the highway you can guage how hard you need to be on your brakes based on how hard the guy in front of you is on the brakes. If the guy in front of you is that duma** who drives with the right foot on the gas and the left foot always on the brake so the brake light is always on, you have a way to figure out if they are actually braking.
