Most of you do have the information on your confirmations. Some do not. WHY? Then there are those who do not answer voice messages requesting said email. They are the one that worry me most. Who are you hiding from?
People, save everyone some time and include the invoicing address on the confirmation. Some can only indicate how ruff you will be on us if we sneeze without permission but can't put a basic point of information.
fewf, that feels better:rolleyes:

I agree.. be clear and detailed. But I don't think its anything nefarious. Lots of people are just not at all detail oriented. Like that shipper who sent me an email this morning. "Need truck in Indy for load" I emailed him back "for where?".. his one word reply: CANADA.

How many of us have been told 'I have a friend, (gives name) that lives in Canada. Do you know him/her?' Like there were only 30 people that live in Canada and we all know each other.o_O

I hear ya! In addition to proper contact information missing, my list of annoyances also includes: no customs broker info, no pickup/delivery number (if required on either end), no pickup/delivery appointment time, missing pickup/delivery address, and the list goes on! And that is only related to the load confirmation itself. Don't even get me started on all of the other stuff...... lol

I just would like to add...

Please PLEASE please check you email signatures.

It would be nice if we ALL have basic "direct" information in the email signature as well as after hours numbers. most people don't have it ...just blank... or they might have just general number that leading you to 1001 options that you don't need.

The scariest part is when you ask an american load broker for the custom broker info and he answers 'uhh, a what?'

I also ask for an after hours dispatch cell#. Many are reluctant to give out but good to have if things go sideways in the middle of the night or the weekend. This morning a dispatcher said "you wont need that, there is never a problem" I said then what's the issue? your phone will never ring then. He gave it to me.

Funny,

I got a call last night from the good people at Traffix about a clearance issue. Mike, good name and good man... Anyway, we got our sales rep involved, he contacted the CA head office to try and get new paperwork as the shipper in NJ was closed, etc... In the end we weren't able to get a copy of the missing BOLs and ended up bonding the shipment. BUT, Mike took the time to mention that we have after hours phone and email information on our orders and while 'many' other brokers do it seems in his experience hardly anyone picks up the phone when he calls after hours. He mentioned it was 'refreshing' that I picked up.

Why wouldn't one pick up the phone to help a carrier and customer with the smooth transportation of a shipment? What's the point of being involved in transport if you don't really care how/if a shipment is moving?

Have a great long weekend all, off to T-Bay again tomorrow morning. Stay safe, and enjoy some time with your families.

Keep well,
Mike
