So if you are one, I am another, is there a 3rd company out there being jerked around by Elite - let's complain to Link for what it's worth

Elite is no longer on the Link. It's JBJ Trucking now.
I don't bother with the Link anymore I have tried several times to get their help in situations and have been told either to fill out an Equifax form and send it back or that they cannot get involved it's a legal matter.

Jessica,

Not sure why contacting the link didn't work for you. I've tried it twice now in the past few months, and I am sure that they are the reason I got paid in both situations. They have told me that they will shut down a business's access to the Link if they receive three credible complaints for non-payment. Once they get the report they actually call and talk to the offending company and this usually gets the money flowing, cutting them off is a threat that is available.

It's worth a shot anyway. Send email to complaints@linklogi.com

Good Luck everyone.

Don't even waste $75 bucks in small claims. I just drive to their office (I will drive pretty far), introduce myself and tell them I'm not leaving until they pay the bill. Works every time. Even if they call the cops, usually the cop will be sympathetic with you and try to get a resolution.
If there is employees or any people around, this usually humiliates the owner enough to pay you. If they try to get rough or threaten you, you can just leave but that has never happened to me.

I know this sounds childish and unprofessional, but how else can you deal with rip off artists and con men.

They do this because we are mostly an annoymous business; just a voice on the other end of the phone. That is why they do what they do. Go get in their face; there is no law against that. Show up and let them know you are not fooling around. I have done this many times if I've done it once; if the broker is a real prick he might let you sit for a couple hours but your'll get your money if you ar patient. This may not seem productive but if you are owed a large sum it still pays off.

GREAT comment Hogie. Instead of AR wasting time and money send someone to get the money. You are correct in the comment that many times the embarassment will force them to pay.
I have often thought that this is a biz/service that I could do/provide on a comissionion basis. I'm not embarassed to ask for monies owed, will sit all day when paid, am presentable in public but big enough to intimidate!

It's your money people, why are you allowing these bottom feeders to play games with your heads?
