Driver Wages?

I was just wondring what everyones thought was on current Driver wages? What they thought was a fair wage for lets say OTR van? What about decks? Just thought I would see where people are with the freight rates being where they are. Thanks again!

There was a really good article (written by a driver) in last month's Today's Trucking about the merits of hourly pay for drivers. He stated that his employer pays him hourly for long haul work.. he didn't mention the name of the employer or if they're in some kind of niche market where the rates make hourly pay possible. But his argument for hourly pay and the resultant benefits for drivers and fleets was well thought out. Look it up on line.. interesting read..
