Job Title: Senior Driver Manager Department: Human Resources Web Category: Office
Summary: Responsible for monitoring productivity and identify and make recommendations for areas in which the Company can improve the effectiveness of the fleet and the success of our Driving Force. Experienced with operations, the successful candidate would be a strong communicator and solution focused. He will be involved in the final selection of drivers hired and will be responsible to orient them in the operational components necessary for success at XTL. He will also follow their progress to ensure success is realized.

1. Driver Orientation The holder of this position will be held accountable for ensuring new hires are equipped with the right tools by providing drivers with the necessary knowledge and resources to begin a successful career at XTL.
Conduct final discussion with qualified candidates to ensure expectations and fits have potential for success at XTL;
Document contract of mutual expectation;
Provide formal orientation on day to day operations and company policies and procedures;
Coordinate with counter terminals to ensure Handbook is current, accurate and consistent;
Assess level of need and suitability in conjunction with assigning mentor;
2. Performance Evaluations
Conduct 14, 40, 80 day reviews, capture and communicate issues of concern as well as successes;
Under the guidance of HR, complete 90 day probation with related departments;
Measure & Report:
Trends of concern;
Trends of success;
3. Productivity
Monitor productivity in relation to expectations for both driver and company;
Identify opportunity for improvement;
Prepare report for weekly meetings with managers from Operations and HR;
Participate daily at the morning conference to point out to bottle neck and wasting time issue;
Work closely with Operation and Customer Service manager to align power with Volume and Service objectives;
Work closely with Operation and Customer Service before applying disciplinary measures; Measure & Report:
Earnings in relations to miles driven and hours worked;
Wasted time events;
4. Retention
Responsible for Mentor program:
Train and recruit mentors;
Assess suitability of applicants for the mentor program;
Maintain regular communication with on duty mentors;
Meet with drivers and Mentors individually after completion of the mentor program to gain their feedback, comments and concerns. This will assist in program/training improvements;
Hold monthly council meetings;
Arranged assignments and pay;
Participate in the organization of the Awards banquets
Participate in driver meetings with Operations
Perform exit interviews to help:
Assess potential for rehire
Determine underlying concerns and root cause for termination
Measure & Report:
Qualifications for awards banquet;
Turnover;
