Lisa Wood is the owner - we had 1 invoice - large amount - took 70 days to pay it. Was a little concerned dealing with her as she is a "one woman" outfit operating out of her home in a remote area...

Had to call a few times to get a cheque sent out....
 
Did one load for them in 2009... took 91 days, not mention several promises prior to. on my DNU. Also very difficult to get a hold of Lisa
 
Just a quick note about our company Sandwood Transport as there appears to be some discrepancies with this thread about our company. Sandwood Transport has been in business since 2004. We started off as a broker and last year actually became a trucking company, not just a broker. We currently have 3 trucks in the fleet. My name is Lisa Wood and I am a "part" owner in the business. Sandwood is "NOT" a one woman show in a remote area as someone has mentioned. We currently have 5 employees and our office is in a rural area near the town of Havelock. For people based in the city I suppose you could call it remote (we do have hydro and telephones here to). Sandwood Transport strives to pay their bills in 30-45 days from RECEIPT of paperwork and despite what some are saying we ALWAYS pay our bills when we say we are going to. Currently cheque runs are every 2nd week and we do offer some of our clients quick pay. We have had some difficulty with some carriers backdating their invoices, some to even before loads were picked up. Sometimes I am difficult to get in touch with primarily because I am busy. It is due to Sandwood Transport seeing tremendous growth. We did have some difficulties earlier this year with someone writing counterfeit cheques on our account and we had to close and reopen another bank account and this is not an overnight problem to resolve. If anyone had difficulties with receiving their payments during that time, Sandwood does have letters from the bank showing that there were issues and I will gladly provide anyone with a copy of that letter to show we don't make promises we can't keep. Sandwood strives to use only the BEST carriers to perform work on their behalf. We tend to use the same carriers on a regular basis and very rarely do we need to rely on the load boards for carriers to do work for us. We expect honesty and integrity from the carriers we use and the same holds true for our drivers. Sandwood Transport's own drivers make deliveries on time and as promised. If anyone has any questions or needs verification about the integrity of Sandwood Transport, please feel free to give either myself, Lisa a call at 705-778-7790 or Sandy at 705-778-1136. We gladly answer any questions that you may have and provide you with a list of carriers we use on a regular basis such as Phils Transport, Marbert Transport & Players Logistics. We can also provide you customer references who can verify that Sandwood Transport and their drivers can deliver goods on time and as promised. I find it disheartening that some people on this site are hiding behind a user name instead of saying who they actually are. Example is "ONSITE" below. He has us on his DNU list. I wonder if we actually are. He might be on Sandwood's DNU as well. I am not sure if he provided good or bad service, I can't tell you when we actually received paperwork or anything. In response to DRC below...you actually did 2 loads for me one invoice recd 09/09/08 for $4450 paid on Oct 11/08. (You were about 3 days late delivering this 1st load). The second load (which I debated about giving your company) Invoice recd Jan 6/09 for $4600 and paid on Feb. 18/09.

congrats on coming in here and defending yourself, seems like you've got good intentions and yes some people do bill at time of pick up or earlier, when in fact we can only process once we receive the mail.

anyone else have comments about this company? maybe some positive feedback anyone?
 
yeah she came out to play and all the others stopped bashing... weird...
 
Lisa Wood and her trucks are one of the best canadian carriers that I use. What Lisa says, Lisa does, everytime.
I highly recommend Sandwood and Lisa Wood. Been using her company for 3 years without ever having one issue.
 
Good for you Lisa way to quiet down the bashers, I am fairly new to this site myself and yes a very helpful site at that but I have found that there are some people in this business that speak before they think, you proved yourself in this open forum with proof who you are and what you represent. It seems those people that like to bash are usually the ones having their own difficulties and this is how they represent themselves, you know the old saying "proof is in the pudding " and you proved yourself today by standing up for yourself. I have been in this business for 31 years and have seen a lot of those types come and go, anyways have a great day and again good for you.
