Just a caution,

Desrosier Transport now doing loads directly for our customer, they have been doing for us for several years ~400 loads in 6 years. Now doing them direct, Oh and the best part is they are doing it for less than I was paying them in 2010. Nice to see loyalty from a carrier and customer for that matter.

Added to our DNU

Two can play at that game. Cut Desrosier's rate and offer the business to other carriers.. now is the time to do it... lots of trucks around looking for freight. And if for some reason you can't cover the loads leave them hanging... they're only loyal to price anyway, no big loss.

Already done...not much left in it now and at the rate I can now offer it will barely cover the cost of the stamp on the INV. Also I will now have to listen to the carriers bitch a me because rate is so low thinking there is some huge profit. Unlike the CH Robison's of the world I don't want to be the cheapest, I want to be the best. It is what it is I guess, its just frustrating as hell dealing with a carrier that is willing to cut your throat for a nickel. And you are right if I can't cover it for that rate..it can sit there until I can, I'm not loosing sleep over this customer anymore. Nor will I entertain a damage claim, you want the cheapest I'll use the cheapest, I just don't like doing business that way.

Let them bitch, at least they won't be able to back solicit as easily. Ironically the juicer and "fairer" the rate, the easier it is for your carriers to back solicit. Let them bitch, and when the well runs dry you're on to better things. Keep your head up.

Unfortunally this is all to common. But keep in mind when the "new" carrier is broke down because he isnt making enought to cover fuel, they will be calling you back!

Personal experiance.
