Customer- Not paying us for their load we have done

Hello:

We did one Load from Drummondville QC to Chilliwack. Customer sold this load to us(double brokered load) again, now they are not replying or answering the calls. We reached out to shipper and they told us another customer was the broker for the load. We reached out to them and they are saying we have already paid to middleman and we cannot pay you. Even though we gave them all the proofs that we did their load.

Can you please suggest what we can do next?

I had already gone through big trouble with them. They did fraud with few companies under name JOHNSON Group Logistics (JGL) and then open another company - Powerhouse Transportation.
this is his profession to open a company with UPS store address then make fool lots of companies , specially for BC loads. He is big bull shitter - DAN OR MIKE. He change his name with each company. Please beware from this person. He make 100k dollar and change the company. There is collection agency which help people to collect money on behalf of Johnson group logistics and Powerhouse Transportation.

After speaking with our lawyers, they confirm that the law in Quebec applies as this shipment left Quebec, the law stipulates that we if we paid the carrier that we hired then that is where our responsibility ends."

The broker is not willing to pay us, we are already checking with @SCAM CHASER for the paralegal services but if anyone knows about this law please let me know
