Afternoon all

I am heading to Cuba in a couple of weeks for some off time. Having done the Punta Cana for the last 10 years it was time for a change ( or least that is what my Darling said). Got a question: do they accept US dollars for tips? Or do we need to exchange for Cuban Pesos.I don't feel like walking around with $100.00 in loonies in my pocket.

Anybody beeen to Cuba this year?

Thanks.:D

Don't bother with US dollars. Just buy some convertible pesos which are worth the same as US dollars. Cuba actually has 2 currencies, one for tourists and one for the locals. The local pesos are useless for tourists and worth next to squat anyway.

Newby,

They will take CDN and US dollars without any problem.

Last time I went - I brought down little "dollar store" items to leave also for housekeeping. They are thrilled to get household items and also school supplies for their kids. Anything "baseball" goes over HUGE down there....

Just a few ideas....

Enjoy your trip!

Wishing you a good trip...and I hope you offer your comments to us regarding the trip. Like you, I have always gone too Punta Cana (in April).....and I must admit...it would take a lot for me to switch..

Enjoy...

Somebody else must know ya Eddie I was wondering when you werent on vacation!!!

Think we waited too long to book for Thanksgiving. Prices jumped $1000.00 a couple overnight. Can leave this Saturday for normal price.
