With the CSA 2010 upon us carriers can currently review their BASICS score. Late this year everyone will be able to access each carriers BASIC score just like the safersys.org site.

Using the safestat system it was easy to see a carrier with a poor safety rating.

Have you determined what a "poor" Basic score will be when you are determining whether to use a carrier or not? Will it be and overall score or determined by each individual part of the BASIC.

Just curious on everyones thoughts.

I'm a shipper.

I reference the Safetstat system every time I hire a new carrier. You can gauge the integrity of the company that you are giving your freight to. I hope that the CSA 2010 will provide additional insight into companies on the road.

As of today they have percentages up on the website and it tells you if you are Deficient or not. They have thresholds set and once you hit it you are marked BASIC Deficient and their investigation begins.

You as a shipper will be able to see this closer to the end of the year and it will replace the safestat information.

How much information you will see I am not sure but I would guess you would be able to see the % in each of the 7 BASIC catagories.

I think quite a few carriers are going to be in for an unpleasant surprise.
