Montreal police are looking for victims of a man charged with allegedly obtaining contracts to transport goods, then stealing the items and selling them on the black market. The goods were worth an estimated $3 million.

Police arrested Montrealer Stuart Letovsky, 34, on Dec. 6. He has been charged with multiple counts of theft and receiving stolen goods.

In a press release, police said Letovsky allegedly created a company called Tyler Xpress in the fall of 2011, advertising transportation services. He obtained several contracts in Canada and the U.S. He is accused of then stealing the goods and distributing them on the black market in Montreal, using the pseudonym Andrew Rose.

Anyone who may have information in relation to this matter is asked to call their local police department or 911. Information may also be left anonymously by calling the Northbridge Tips hotline:

Thanks for this information Paul. Im amazed how these characters obtain contracts within weeks of starting up business...poof....just like that, when we all know it can takes months to obtain contracts even if we have been in business for 10 + years....you would imagine that these shippers do background checks on the companys that will be handling their items of value? I dont know maybe I just cant fathom the mind of a crook.

Thanks Paul. I was just about to post the same information.
I wonder how long before he starts up his next venture.
Scary....

I read the "contracts" part as essentially posting on loadlink and being brokered freight. Might seem like a huge difference to us, but not to the public.

plus you just take the cheapest stuff, no problem, you're only gonna load it and offload it at your place nearby, no cost involved, never actually move out of town.

so if he rated a big outbound bid and got it super cheap, its normal, most shippers would use the cheapest guy even if he is new, he is "saving" them money.

I bet the shippers are glad they shipped it cheap saved a lot of money. Wonder if the guy hauling it got paid - or maybe the church hauled it.
