They loose some business with their wholesale partners before.
And now they're after carrier...

This is a game changer for sure. Great news for CN shareholders and others with a vested interest in CN. Not so great for LTL carriers who have let their trucking fleets go in favour of using CN. Now they will need to rely on a direct competitor to move their containers.. not a great position to be in.

I could be wrong, but having TransX as their own, CN probably will prioritise there shipments compare to other wholesale partners...

I think that's exactly what will happen..And you can be sure that the sales resp at transX will be telling perspective prospects that "we own the trucks and the railroad too".. so why ship with ABC Transport who use us anyway? May as well go direct with us.

There is more to this , if I'm not mistaken..
If TransX driver's are not unionised, that give CN management a leverage while bargaining with it's own fleet of unionised O/O's, or use them during Union strikes...
On another hand TransX will be able to utilise CNTL in areas where they were short staffed...

The union may also attempt to unionize the TransX drivers.. could swing both ways...

Well, just heard that union, for some unknown to me reason, rejected the contract with CNTL and it will be a lockout starting beginning of July...
Here is that opportunity for TRANS'X drivers to shine....eh...
