Can someone please tell these guys to stay away from the Canadian market or at least teach them how to quote.. Reducing the rate every day just to get more profit on their side and then say we had to reduce rates in the new year in order to win business. Liars. They want Saturday delivery and paying 1200 to KS. $1700 to Miami.

those are normal rates right now, outbound from Canada is so hot

I don't know what your numbers are but can you get $2700 from Kansas for Dry van right now. I dont think so?

was that in CDN or US? I guess at those rates, it's a good way to make sure no one double-brokers your freight, lol.

In yyz and yvr rates are skewed like crazy at all times of the year. Seems like the carriers from these specific 2 cities are 10000 times more eager for work and are basically willing to take anything. Alot of times these companies with xx+ trucks have more drivers than freight .

Ive heard from a owner as long as each truck brings him 8k per week he can die a happy man, this is on a fleet of 30 trucks and 50 reefers.

I guess it depends on their costs, and what they pay their drivers and staff. Good for them if they can make it work.

Every company I have worked for has had different RPM goals, but none of them would have taken a load to KS on a Saturday delivery for $1200. I have always felt responsible for meeting those goals so that everyone in the company can pay their mortgage. Being eager is not running from the GTA to KS for $1200, that is more like desperate.

Eager, is keeping at it and finding the loads at the rates needed so that next year, we can all do it again.

many many people are still getting payed .45 cents cad single and .66 cent cad per team mmbr

Dispatchers, buildings, equipment, maintenance, insurance - works out to more than 1.20 a mile.
But if you only insure 1 truck in the fleet (for Ontario only) and don't pay for WSIB, source deductions or stat holidays etc and don't do any preventative maintenance and steal every other tank of fuel they just may make money at those rates. /s

We don't get qualified people for $0.51/mile - how do they get for that cost.... it's like people don't want to be treated fairly
Well, the word QUALIFIED .. delete that from your dictionary like they did and you will see a long que outside of your office tomorrow morning. But I am sure you don't want it that's why you are looking for qualified drivers.
