My US client just told me he covers Montreal to New Jersey for $900. Is anyone else getting rates that low?

Ive always paid between $1000-1200 depending on who I'm using and where its going in New Jersey

Shippers are paying from Toronto to NJ , any given city $900 - possibly $ 1000.00 ALL IN . And even on reefer loads....I remember when we used to get $ 1200 - $1400 per load.

Container rate !

I was told by an Ex container ship line rep that now works over @ traffic tech that they are quoting $900.00 per container from MTL. to Jersey.

I believe that the carrier then has a free chassis and gets a few more hundred to bring back and empty container.

That seems to be the going rate.

I do not think that any dry box carrier will go down under $1100.00.

I'd say that depending on where in NJ the freight is going to, it may be right -- I would say it would range $900 to $1100. Northbound freight off the ports in particular for reefer pays pretty good so it's not out of the realm of possibility for the right carrier.

A lot of carriers are running from here to NJ for $1000.
