Montreal to Pekin,IL for $1300.00 FTL 985 miles

Man i guy would have to be way past desperate, border line stupid to do a load like that.

But someone will.

Cheap rate of the day

I don't know if it's just me remembering the "good old days" or I am wrong in thinking that a van load from Las Vegas, NV. back to Toronto should pay more than $3700.00 CD? Last time I looked, Las Vegas is still about 2300 miles away. We were told by one of our customers that they received a quote from a carrier for $3700.00 and we were "much" too high. The next time I hear that low rates are somehow caused by freight brokers, I am going to snap! Oh, by the way, this was also a trade show pick-up - we all know how much fun they are!

Here's one that just came up, FreightOnTime posted a full flatbed load from Bolton to Kent WA for $4,700 cdn all incl. It took everything I had to not fall out of my chair I was laughing so hard!!!!!

Cheap freight of the day......Hamilton to Evansville,IN 685miles $800.00.
HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA ....................HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !

How about this... had a customer of ours call asking if we could beat a FTL flatbed from Toronto to Vancouver tarped that they currently pay $2500 on... that is absolutely sickening

And another cheap load

48000 lbs of press board tarped from Willacooche GA to Toronto one company offered $1650 then said they could squeeze to $1700.00 wich is bad enough then phone UTI because they have it posted also and they want to pay $1250.00 and think a $1.10 a mile is a great rate....

I have to add myself to the list... I had a load from IL - NS, it only paid $3100. Thank you to a certain broker out there that we all know, who went to my customer and said this lane will cost $3110. After they dumped it back on my customer because they couldn't get rid of it, it was thrown in my lap. I was lucky enough to have a carrier that could run the shipment at $3100. I can't wait to go to a function where I can tell this wonderful broker exactly what I think of their tactics. The only good that came out of it is my customer thinks that they are deuce bags now. I was not impressed with the push I got from my customer because these deuce bags bailed after cutting my rate by $840. I was informed that this will no longer be my lane, so I informed my customer next time they need it covered and they come to me they better be prepared to pay.

Seems to me that if you quote your customer your rate, and somebody undercuts you then can't do the load, then your rate should still apply if your customer still wants you to do it.

My $0.02.
