They called Tues. to see if I wanted them to mail a check or wait until Friday to see re the postal strike.

I told them to mail it and I'll take my chances.

Perhaps it is not true. A carrier called yesterday and said he was waiting too long to get paid so he called the customer and advised he was owed $3400.

The customer replied he had already paid them, but only $3100. This carrier is now sure they will bankrupt shortly too.

Just please be careful, that is all I am saying.

The post office should strike more often;)
I received my cheque today and it was mailed June 1st. It was for an end of March invoice.

To all that are reading this propaganda that Chantler Transport is bankrupt please feel free call our office at 1-888-266-6651 and speak to the owner or the controller. We also would invite hockylover to call and speak directly to the owner as to the source of this slander. Chantler Transport is a prosperous, rapidly growing business that is NOT going bankrupt.

To Chantler (Ontario) and all readers on this forum.

I humbly apologize for the posting about the above company. I have since apologized profusely for this error. Apparently there was a Chandler International in Quebec that was the object of the rumor. They have (apparently) closed. I say apparently because I am being careful now, but the phone is disconnected.

My two original sources were frenchmen and I misunderstood the name - as they were telling me their situations in the bankruptcy of the company.

I had no idea there was a Quebec company with a similar name that had burned people and went under. My only intention is to warn anybody and everybody of any future loss. We have been burned before and I joined this forum so I could be more vigilant, not to cause harm to any one.

I have spoken to Steve Chantler and he gracefully accepts my apology. I feel absolutely awful about this mistake.

The embarassed hockeylover will wear a helmet today and you can throw things at me today, but please not forever. I am only human.

The humbled hockeylover.

Hockeylover,

This is certainly not the first time this has happened on the forum. With companies choosing names so familiar to others - it is bound to happen. I am surprised it doesn't occur more often.

Thank you for posting this. Please take off your helmet - not necessary to wear one for protection. You have gone over and above to rectify your original post.

If Chantler has accepted your apology - good enough. No one else on the forum needs to "pipe in" about this.

Consider the matter closed and it is nice to see someone "retract" and acknowledge a mistake. A positive reflection on your character....
