Who here from the "City" is servicing areas north of Hwy 9 in York Region specifically with their own fleet of trucks for LTL? Is it Daily? once every few days? on-demand hot shots only?

Aside from us obviously ;)

Area I'm thinking of in my mind... Keswick, Holland Landing, Queensville, Sharon, Uxbridge, Newmarket, Zephyr, Mount Albert....

If you aren't servicing this area directly, are you passing freight to an Agent for first / last mile? Not Servicing? Charging beyond fees? Just trying to get an idea of how some of other carriers handle "quasi-rural / small towns"

We go up there for LTL deliveries 4-5x month, pretty much on demand.

We try to group our deliveries together (often successfully!) and if there isn't enough for a full load of deliveries and/or a reload in Richmond Hill, we hook it up a Canada only highway driver looking to get back to Winnipeg...sometimes into Montreal. So, pretty much on demand.

We don't source much freight up there...just deliveries.

One of the reasons, I'm inquiring is that we are seeing a fair amount of companies move north for cheaper real estate, whether it be rentals/leases, or design build solutions. However the last thing they seem to think about in the increase in transportation charges from their existing carriers, or that their current next day LTL carrier just added +1 days in transit. Cheap rent, doesn't always come with cheap freight!

Its surprising the number of companies that move north and expect to pay Miss/Brampton FTL Rates.

I foresee this being more common place as bare plots of land GTA run for design build.
