I am appealing to the wisdom of all the smart people on this forum for help with the following question:
Can a shipper purchase an additional insurance, a trip only possibly, for a cargo if a carrier is not insured sufficiently? Example: cargo value $250 000 but carrier's insurance for cargo only $100 000.
Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Any insurance company will provide a one time rider for an excessive cargo value. Usually costs between$200-$500 depending on the extra insurance you need. You can get them same day and spells out the details of the trip plus.

You could check out Cargo Cover. Offers per shipment insurance, usually costs a small, small percentage of the value. The certificates are easy to complete on line and are available quickly. It can also be a source of revenue for you and offers additional peace of mind for your customer.

Whomever your insurer is will have the ability to put together an “inland marine” policy for the one off shipments.
