So, here I am after work, walk in the house, I'm tired as it's been one of those days, I sit on the couch, and flip on the TV ... and guess what's on ... ICE ROAD TRUCKERS !!!
Now, normally I don't watch this show 'cause it's an awful lot of Hollywood BS ... But I digress ... this particular episode is about Montana driver Darryl Ward who gets his own truck and is now running loads out of Winnipeg to destinations in northern Manitoba and northern Ontario then either deadheading back to the 'Peg or hauling return freight.
Now, I don't know about you guys, but I'd be willing to bet that good old Darryl doesn't have a work visa for Canada, and I sure in as hell know he isn't doing "repositioning" loads as an American carrier.
Wouldn't you think Polar or any of those other companies out there would want to drop a dime to CBP on good old Darryl ???

I think there are some members here that have worked with the "Ice Road Truckers" ... care to chime in?
Come to think of it ... isn't Lisa Kelly an American as well?
Maybe Polar and VP Express should stand up and take notice.

On the other hand, if they (Darrell & Lisa) are actors, then you can fill in the prerequisite amount of BS and call Ice Road Truckers what it really is ... Entertainment ... and it has very little resemblance to real life.

Okay, so this should be funny ... both Peter Carter and Rolf Lockwood (Today's Trucking) are friends of mine. I put the same question to them ... how does this work, American drivers driving Canadian trucks, hauling point to point in Canada ... that should be illegal. They both laughed like mad fools and said very interesting question, we're going to look into it and get back to you.

True Ralph, or just guessing?
'Cause if that's true, then we all should film a "reality" show starring our very own drivers and see if we can get them U.S. work visas as actors ... LOL

More importantly though ... if it is true and they are getting actors visas, they better not be taking paying work away from Canadians. They'd best be hauling around concrete slabs that the production company purchased themselves.

Actually Hugh and Alex must of gotten them the year they did Alaska. The show is so much BS it is almost as bad as Shipping Wars.

Now their is a bunch of idiots making us all look bad.

Load starts at a $5000 rate and one of them idiots hauls it for 35 bucks and has to hire crews to load, unload, build a crate, buy tarps, pay for a crane, and the blown transmission on his 1973 Dodge van with a 225 sidewalk hemi. And then he cannot understand why the tranny went pulling 10,000 lbs through the Rockies.

Here's your sign!
