Budget Load Solutions - Brampton, ON

Just a random thought on a Friday afternoon ...
Do people ever give 1 second's thought to what they name their company, and where they do business ????
"Budget Load Solutions" To me, as a carrier, that says "We get our business by cutting everyone else's rates".
"Brampton, ON" No offense to G. Roch and select others, but finding a good load broker in Brampton is just about as difficult as finding an honest load broker in Quebec, or worse, Nevada.

Michael, you would be surprised how most people will go with the cheaper guy every time, then they wonder why they have carriers calling to collect on bills already paid or why their freight isn't delivering...

Looking for an update on Budget. Anyone have any work history with them? Thinking of taking some freight from them.

I have no information about this company, however, if I was a carrier contemplating taking freight from them, I would check to see if they are licenced with FMCSA (if the freight is to or from the US) as a property broker. I couldn't find a website for them, not that that means they don't exist, just more like, they're not too serious about what they do. I wonder whose "budget" these "solutions" are supposed to benefit?

In the movement of freight would you use somebody who has a big splashy website, facebook and twitter accounts or someone who moves your freight in a professional and timely manner? Just askin'.

I think in this case, bellcitytransport was thinking about moving some freight for Budget load Solutions. If so, and the freight was either to or from the US, Budget Load Solutions must be licenced by FMCSA. The existence of a website, flashy or not, certainly isn't an indication of a company's payment patterns, business ethics or much of anything else. However, it is a good starting point when doing your due diligence in regards to whether or not you want to conduct business with them. I agree bull958, some of our most reliable and dependable carriers, are those that have elected not to invest in an internet presence. Just as a side note to this, is anyone else amazed at how poorly designed some websites are? I'm referring to things as simple as proper grammar, spelling mistakes and using the wrong words to describe a service or thought. It makes one wonder just how efficient their service would be if they can't take the time or trouble to double check their own advertising?

Loaders, funny you should say that. Personally, I think any company should have a website even if the only purpose of it is to say what they do with mission and vision statements. This is the first tell-tale sign of what a company is. Cross reference that to other measures and you'll know if you're dealing with an ethical character.

The website is less a concern with a carrier partner (though I don't see why any business wouldn't have a website), but especially as a broker who is a marketer of services, what kind of marketer these days doesn't use the web and social media as part of their strategy? That's what one has to question.

It's true that some websites are poorly put together with bad grammar and such. That's because they are most likely using GoDaddy templates and creating it themselves, where sometimes the people are relatively recent immigrants and/or uneducated. That also says a lot of who you are dealing with ... not saying they are bad people, but you know on what level they are dealing.

A broker without a website -- definite red flag though.

Exactly, the man, I entirely agree. Using the services of a broker without a website, unless he's your brother-in-law and you know where to find him, is risky business. In todays wired or wireless (I still can't get that straight!) environment, any company, especially a service based one, should have an internet presence. Although it doesn't happen very often and when it does the outcome isn't always a sale, but I am surprised at the number of enquiries we received from people searching the internet and finding our firm. Having a website has become a "no-brainer", just make it look as professional as possible.......please!

Scenario;
Boss: So did we setup that really important shipment going to the states?
Shipper: Yep, all done.
Boss: So were using ABC Trucking like always?
Shipper: No, I got added on LinkedIn to a new guy. Checked out his website and he looks like our best option.
Boss: Are you sure? This is a really important shipment for the company.
Shipper: Don’t worry, I tweeted him the details and he tweeted back his Face book page address. We’ve got nothing to worry about.
Boss: So what’s this new guy’s name?
Shipper: Tim Armstrong…
