Big City Freight Brokers

Hopefully it's not the same same Chris Stoiou that was charged with Cattle hauling Fraud back in 2007. That Chris Stoiou was from Alberta.

Worth a look into.

There was an application for discharge from bankruptcy in 2005 by the bankrupt Christopher Peter Stoiou. In the application there is mention of prior experience in the trucking industry.

Here is a link to the CANLII page where you can read about it.

Just wondering

Is Mr Stoiou back in the trucking business ?

Is Mr Stoiou paying his bills ?

Who is moving loads for Big City Freight Brokers ?

I remember the name from a long time ago ... I can't remember why for sure but for some reason watermelons ring a bell.

We have an invoice over 60 days

Chris Stoiou promised payment terms in writing of net 15 days.

Promised a cheque in the mail, first one got lost, second issued cheque never arrived.

Promised a Fedex pkg overnight, then promised another in 2 days, which never arrived.

Left numerous messages, never has he returned our calls, screens his calls and uses voice mail.

Contacting his shipper for payment.

Big City Freight

It has been confirmed, Big City Freight Brokers has no intentions of paying the carriers that hauled his freight.

Contact the shipper ASAP, you will find that you are not the only carrier calling for payment, you are one of many. We were lucky, both shippers have agreed to pay us and not Big City Freight.

It is also apparent that Mr Chris Stoiou set this company up to scam numerous carriers and disappear.

Some things never change

Watch out for Stoiou

Hi: I came across this forum doing a google search on Chris Stoiou. He is an undischarged bankrupt and I am his trustee.
The fact that he incurred credit without disclosing the fact of his bankruptcy is an offence.
If anyone can share details regarding what he is doing and where I will ensure that it gets to the bankruptcy court.
The conclusion that he has no intention of paying his debts is correct. He has left a long trail of unpaid people behind him.
I am trying to keep him from doing it to others.

Brokering produce freight Canada to USA and back.

Receiving payment from the shippers and never paying the trucking companies who have moved the freight for him.

There are many trucking companies that have not been paid by him.

An individual actually loaned Mr Stoiou $25,000 to open his new business.

Anything further, please send me a pm.

One invoice has been collected from the shipper.

The other invoice the shipper refused to pay directly to us as Mr Stoiou
called them for payment and was so beligerent and threatening they were intimidated into issuing a cheque for Mr. Stoiou.

Mr. Stoiou contacted our office 9 days ago complaining of bad publicity in this forum and nothing positive has been posted about Big City Freight Brokers.

Mr. Stoiou promised a bank draft for his one overdue invoice and it would be personally delivered to our office by a business partner by Tuesday November 16th.

He vehemently insisted, to myself and to the owner, that since he promised payment, we would immediatley post that his account has been paid.

To date his account remains unpaid and he has not called us.

Cher:
Thanks for the information. Can we connect so that I can get paperwork on Stoiou to put in front of the Court? My email is bcourage@bdo.ca. Any invoices correspondence etc. from Big City would be appreciated.

We have learned today, according to Mr Stoiou's parents,
he has fled Ontario and is in B.C. somewhere.

He left owing over $160,000.00 to trucking companies and creditors.

What happens next?

I will let some people in BC know that he may be heading that way. They are involved in the livestock business and may have contacts in the trucking business. I would just be happy if he stayed out of business.

This is the same guy I think that ran a reefer company back in the mid 1990's out of the Oshawa/Port Perry area. I can't remember the name of his company ( I want to say National Traffic but can't say for sure) but he had a bad reputation for not paying his bills back then.

I believe you a right, I never heard of this guy before these postings.

I read up on some of the links people have added and there was mention of a meat packing plant near Owen Sound or Collingwood.

I believe he had bankrupted that business. Owing substantial sums to carriers.
