Wondering if anyone had any experiences with this trucking company, Aujla Truck and Transport Inc.?

I gave them a shipment and they confirmed on their end. After few emails with no response trying to get an update, called them and dropped shipment last minute.

They are on our DNU list, we had an issue with them a few months back where we gave them a load and then they dropped us when we asked for status update.

We were going to take a load from them with us being the carrier but my compliance team shut it down, too many flags
Certainly flag #1 had to be their lack of FMCSA broker authority, if the load was cross border. Think what you will about the value of dealing with an entity who maintains a 75K surety bond or doesn’t, but surely when given the choice, isn’t there some merit in dealing with a company that at least took the effort to be properly licensed? In this case, your compliance team made the correct call.

They are a carrier and not registered as a broker.
They received their authorities about a 1.5 years ago and are on facility insurance.
FMCSA address is residential. Google address is the same as the now defunct HBC Transportation (is this carrier something leftover from HBC?).
Their website is just a fill-and-send contact page with no phone numbers, email addresses.

Just my minute and a half look into this carrier makes me wonder....

I agree, you might have saved some headaches.

Jim L, I think that you, or me, or someone should publish a manual on how to properly vet your suppliers/customers. It seems that almost daily there is a carrier or a broker posting a complaint on Inside Transport against someone who failed to either pay their invoice or provide their promised service. These tools are readily available, almost all of them free of charge and as you demonstrated, can take just a matter of minutes to complete.

You're absolutely right. I think the manual doesn't have to be too terribly big either. I'd bet it'd be 25 pages including pictures.

You and I have learned some lessons the hard way - sometimes the very hard way. To create a manual would take some time to present in a professional manner and take some upkeep to maintain its relevancy. I also would hope that my experience will one day equate to some compensation - you just don't get that for free. For now, I'll continue to keep it as my competitive advantage.
