We noticed in the past week or so that our drivers are not being asked for money when they cross the Ambassador Bridge. Instead they are being told that their company information has been recorded and they will be mailing us a bill.

We called to see what was going on and they said this procedure will continue and starting in January they will be charging an additional $25 per crossing.

Looks like we will be making much more use of the Blue Water Bridge.

we were contact by bridge had to put ambassador bridge toll transponders on windshield, no longer use card to pay

The $25 is if you do not have an RFID tag and they will charge the 25 as an administration fee every time you cross without the tag. I will be so glad when that new bridge is built and be able to get away from the biggest crook in our business.

That's fine if the RFID tags work. We're having issues with them. They work U.S bound, but 5 of my drivers are telling me they won't work coming Canada bound.

And they're at umanned booths. i had to rush to get every unit RFID equipped by Nov 1, we removed all the old bridge cards and now the tags are screwing up.

Central Transport's response, a week after I called them, was to have the driver call Command Centre@ 313-989-0136 a half hour before arrival and some one will meet them at the booth.

i'll be glad to get rid of the hassle with dealing with Matty too.

I was wondering the same thing, as in truck news they said they were handing out free transponders at the duty free I had several trucks stop and no one there knows anything my drivers are talking about. There is nothing on the ambassador bridge website about getting transponders unless I am blind and don't see it.

Everyone with the GOLD Cards got notices by post and e-mail in September.

Contact Central Transport, RFID Division 586-939-70000. It will go through main reception. tell her you are inquiring about the RFID TAGS

Don't say CARDS or TRANSPONDERS. She wasn't to bright with me and transferred me to the bridge.

I had to start all over again.
