Alberta officers put 65% of trucks OOS during Airdrie enforcement blitz

The level of details in these news stories baffles me. Were any of these commercial vehicles Rogers technicians vans with burnt out tail light? What about a taxi? The story implies it's all Semi Trucks, but I'll bet it's not.

I agree the percentage is insanely high for vehicles that require annual safety inspections though.

Happy Friyay!

Plus, how many of the trucks they decided to pull over for an inspection were sketchy looking to begin with? The total number of inspections was only 25, hardly a meaningful sample size. I understand that Truck News is tasked with reporting transportation related stories, but come on guys, shouldn’t you be pointing out the weaknesses in this report?

I often travel past this scale. They typically have the bad actors held up out back. (Don’t see many non-trucking commercial vehicles pulled in so doubt landscapers and roofers added to the numbers much).

I don’t question these stats at all. There’s a disturbing amount of junk and riff raff drivers on the road these days.

We need more scales operating and enforcing just like this Balzac scale is.

Ah Balzac. I went to university with a couple gals from Olds. The weekend chant was "its not far in the car to the bar in Balzac".

Good times :)
