Unfortunately,
We caught this carrier rebrokering a TL from NC into ON. The shipment occurred in August 2017.
Interestingly, they authorized (insisted) the transporting carrier use their PARS for the shipment.
Thanks to a patient transporting carrier (Express JW) and a very cooperative factor (Royal Financial Corp), we have been successful in obtaining a refund for our payment that had previously been sent and cashed and have been able to compensate the transporting carrier directly.
Even the watchful eye of the factor as well as our administrative staff would have a hard time catching this as the PARS and ACI were both AKM Transport.
We need to work together to ensure that the correct people are compensated. I'm glad this one had a happy ending, they don't always.
I'd say it's earned AKM a place on the DNU list.

Not sure on SCAC but their mc# is 951630 ?

You'd have to ask them for their SCAC or look at a PARS sticker (if they use their SCAC on it. I'm sorry I don't have the MC document readily available as it was purged from the sever. It;s on a backup drive in my safe at home, can't help much further on this I'm sorry.

after reading these comments as well i thought to give a try to AKM Transport but it seems they are still the same. Booked a load with AKM on Wednesday for pickup Friday(today). Until yesterday everything was on schedule, but this morning all of a sudden their truck broke down (only for us). Also, at the same time their truck is posted on the link, i called from a different number and the dispatcher was asking for a crazy rate.

*i was speechless...i still am! They are on our DNU

I've only ever had service failures with them had one shipment picked up and ended up was 3 days late. dnu

Did two loads from these guys, 1 the end of January and one in February. Now being told the owner is out of the country and nobody can write a cheque. This is happening so much I am wondering if we have to start demanding payment before bumping the dock for delivery.
