I have been having a hard time with a broker in the US:

I have been calling and calling in regards to a shipment delivered on Aug 29 and was finally promised a cheque.

They sent the cheque (postmarked a couple days after they said they put it in the mail) and it was short paid by $1000. Maybe they thought I would not see the missing 1 in front of what was supposed to be $1850.

Please be careful with these guys - DNU on our list now.
 
Just an update:

I am still waiting on the 1000 outstanding from this freight broker. I have had many promises of the cheques being sent in the mail but nothing has materialized. The last conversation they said that things were picking up and its starting to look promising but we'll see. Looks like I will have to make a claim on their bond if I don't get the money soon.

Still oustanding 1,000
 
Any relation to ACS Logistics in Ancaster or Brampton. I just did a load for the Ancaster branch.

I know the company is not Advance Business Capital. But the reason this is a red flag is because on AGS' website it shows:

17 locations
A/R factored through Advance
Pay carriers in 14 days or less

They're not being straight with you for sure.
 
Thanks for the tip. I didn't catch on and I just ignored that on their website.

I called Advance Business Capital and, like most US companies dealing in the credit industry, their phones don't ring or only go to VM. I got through to a salesperson and they didn't really know of AGS Logistics so maybe its just a programmer using catchy links to make their business look better on the internet. I left VM to the credit manager and we'll see what is going on.
