Able Insurance

Maybe a little bit off topic, but I been hearing Intact has been holding claims for 5-6 months. I understand it all depends on circumstances...Anyone else been impacted?

Depends on the situation.. sometimes claims are held up by third party’s who are involved in the claims process. Call your broker, that’s what they’re paid for! Keep things moving and with communication.

You may want to stay away from Able Insurance.
I used them a few years back. I was dealing with the owner. I cant recall but I am pretty certain his last name was Pandher. My personal opinion was that they were very dishonest. They told me I was approved for vehicle and cargo. I paid them and then it took 4 weeks to actually obtain cargo coverage despite his verbal comment that I was approved for all insurances.

That's why it's important to deal with reputable broker/companies and obtain certificate of insurance, confirmation of coverage.

Sukhi Pandher
Gary Pandher
Dave Pandher
These are the names I ran into at Able Insurance. Was a nightmare.

Yes, They are delaying for months. For whatever reason. We had a straight forward claim which took more than 4 months. Our customer stop dealing with us after 2 months of chasing them for the check, which adjuster said will be issued and took another 2.5 months, after numerous emails( chasing adjuster almost every day)

So your customer got paid for the cargo after 4.5 months correct?

TBH, that sounds like Intact selected a poor adjuster. Care to divulge the adjusting company's name? If I had to guess it's Gallagher-Bassett.
If you look at it from a macro perspective, Intact is one of the richest insurance companies out there. It is not in their best interest to be holding up claims for the sake of their balance sheet. In their world, claims are just a part of doing business. Money in, money out. Some sticks, some doesn't. Profit and loss. Nothing more, nothing less.
Now, State Farm on the other hand ... well, that's a whole different kettle of fish.
