Abassador Bridge- Erroneous Tolls

Seems in the past month we have received 8 toll bills in the mail showing our trucks licence plates on a bill. and nor record on our end of the crossing. When we check the routing of our truck we find that neither the discribed truck or any other truck from our fleet was anywhere near the bridge on the said date and time. We have launched a complaint to the bridge to dispute the bills, and have been told they will review the video footage. 7 days now and still waiting for the video footage or an update, but the bills still keep coming. Just thought that others may want to check your Ambassador Bridge Toll invoices and verify them.
 
We had the same issue ourselves. I spoke with Diane Lamers [dlamers@centraltransport.com] and she removed the invoices from our account.
 
Anyone getting letters from Illinois Tollway for missed tolls, with $20.00 added for each toll missed?
 
we have had 2 bills from the Ambassador bridge and they have told us they will review video and get back to us but that was over a week ago and still no response
 
Just got our first invoice today. No mention of HOW to pay or WHO to pay. If they expect me to cut a cheque every week for $26.25 or whatever the amount is going to be they are out of their minds! Also invoice says net 7 days. Invoice date is Jan 19th and Canada Post date stamp is Feb 3rd. Yeah, good luck! I checked the ambassador bridge site and there is no mention of these invoices or how to make payment online or by any other method. Idiots.........
 
Maggs Matty Moron would never do anything illegal he is the most honest upstanding citizen this world has ever had...........NOT.
 
We had the same issue with them we provided back up and they applied a credit to our bill. I do suggest you set up an account with them as if you don't not only will they charge you a toll fee but for everyone who does not have a transponder will be charged $25 per crossing on top. I have been getting bills from AMB, and there is no service fee on top, and the plate has been matching.
As for Illinois, I got one bill from the tollroad for about 10 skipped tolls in a month...had photos with plate for every one. Paid bill and got driver to quit bypassing.
 
We started going back through our bills when we noticed some back billing from several months ago and found that alot of our invoices that had a plate number instead of a card number was not the driver they had invoiced us for. That driver was not even close to the border that day. When we went back we found over $1700 of charges that were not invoiced on the right truck using their plate numbers. When we questioned Nicole this is the response we got...........

"Nicole said that if the camera cannot clearly read the plate, it looks at the name and dot number on the side of the vehicle, and chooses a plate that does belong to our company… they cannot manually enter the plate as they see it on the camera, so have to select one that is ours

they are still going to review the tapes and verify that the charges belong to us.. "

I am not impressed with this explanation. if they can read the DOT number and the company logo than they can also see a truck number.

anyone else have this issue and what are you doing about it?
 
It is very important to check every crossing that you do. We have been getting charged VERY OFTEN 'C' which is the heaviest possible charge. Only thing is is that it is not possible. Pointed this out to them and they have told me to get back to them with the invoice numbers in question. Funny though, since I complained with very strong conviction, we are no longer getting charged 'C'. Check you invoices everyone.
