Is there a reason these guys wouldn't use the BOL act and go after shipper/receiver/rightful owner of the goods?

you need a better lawyer, I have never heard of this in all my years. Let me know if you need an actual collections firm.

Yes, something is not right here. Who was their “lawyer”? This should have gone right to small claims court after the exchange of some sternly worded demand letters. Somebody is obligated to pay the provider of the transport services, even if the broker/carrier who offered the freight won’t pay.

I just dont want to say inside conversation here . lawyer was threaten by some gangs when they came to know that claim has been submitted to the small court in QC.Ilco was funding them and supporting them.

Sorry, that’s not the way things work here. If a lawyer is threatened, they report it immediately to the police and the court. I am not suggesting that it didn’t happen, but this is the first time I have ever heard of a lawyer withdrawing from a case due to some threats. Sorry, find a better lawyer, one with a bit more backbone.
