Does anyone have any information on Sheldon or Grizzly Transport in Toronto?

He's a legend ... and a dinosaur. Much of what he does is just loading renegades ... he doesn't care about the equipment or the safer stats of the carriers etc. Everyone has done business with him under one guise or another. His real name is Sheldon Langner but he's called himself Gerald and Howard recently as well. Hiding from the authorities.

If you're in the GTA and don't mind going down to his office at Bloor/Bathurst, he'll cut you a check on the spot. But he's allergic to stamps. If you have any interns working in your offices, send them for the pick-up, his office is a sight to see for sure.

HAHAHA... Rob is correct. I'd forgotten about how small the print was on the paper desk pad on his desk.

I was sent down there in the 80's to pick up a cheque.

I had to call from the phone booth in a donut shop across the street. He would come downstairs and unlock the door. Boxes and papers everywhere. But I'm sure the place I went was on Spadina. I'm sure he's moved a few times since then. I have no Idea how he gets freight. He doesn't seem to be the type to ever leave the office.

Sounds like one would be paid, but would have to attend his office to pick up a cheque. thanks guys.

Renegade is a bit harsh. I preferred being called a "gypsy".

Is his nephew Ian from Lightning still around?

I haven't heard about him for a while ... but who knows?

I can't believe Sheldon is still doing this though. He's got to be at least 75 I would think.

believe it or not, I am his nephew.
 
I can't believe Sheldon is still in the industry. I used to load all the time for him back in my days at Aardvark Express. I used to go and pick up cheques from him. What an office!!! He had a stack of yellow pages phone books stacked from 30 years prior, was a sight to see but he always paid his bills. haha good memories!!!
