Total Quality Logistics

All I can say is that they will try whatever they can to avoid any waiting time or demurge fees (make your terms very clear when booking with them) and the rates are usually very cheap.

I'll bet they either find an American stuck here or some shmuck who's going after a melon load -- even though whatever is left down there now will be watermelon juice.

I know this thread is for payment terms but .....that $850 load to Georgia makes the $400 loads they had coming out of GTA to Syracuse Ny last week look great. Can't figure out if they were moving those loads so quickly why they bothered to call me... Do people actually take their stuff?

Never pay waiting time and have not seen a load of there's yet with any kind of a half decent rate, Robsan is quite right make sure you have them put on there confirmation that waiting time is paid or you will never see it,

had one of their newbies call me week or two ago, said they had done some changes and we now belong to him, he has taken us over and would like me to send our package over yadda yadda yadda.

When he finally stopped his pitch (I was trying to stop him but he just kept talking over me) I told him no need we don't need anyone to manage us for them as they are the LAST company we will ever give our trucks to and most likely would run empty as they pay about the same................

We will do the odd load for them but only when they are desperate and we stick it to them on the rate, I mean really stick it to them. Still sometimes not worth the amount of tracking calls you get.

TQL is publicly traded. There was a Total Quality that was bought by Forward Air earlier this year but it's not the same company.

They recently tried to cover a load we had posted on Link. They gave us a real 'hard sell" telling us how great they are. I have no interest in knowingly double brokering any of our loads even though we were stuck with this one. After reading the comments about TQL, I can only imagine what could have happened if they had re-brokered it! When we told them that we had placed the load with a carrier, they went vertical and even contacted our customer!

We do business with them from time to time. The thing is, determine your rate, I usually ask for about 200 more because they will always try to get you to come down. That way we have a little wiggle room and everyone is happy. They pay well. usually within 30 days. And for the most part, the people have been pretty pleasant. I've been reading some of you and there are a few of you who seem to blame the poor dispatch on the phone for the rates. If you don't like it just say no. the person you are talking to on the phone is just like you... trying to make a living and feed his family. . . when times are hard, it's better than coming home empty.....

Has TQL always tried to flog Ontario to Ontario loads? And at less than $1.00 a mile? And I'm pretty sure that the three people who called (all within 30 minutes of each other) were trying to cover a load that a Canadian broker had this morning.

Anyone have any ideas?

I second this opinion

Sounds about right for them. They call here a couple times a month looking to cover any overflow I have. I just ask them why do I need you and the one guy was bold enough to tell me they had over 50,000 trucks. I asked him when they bought them and then the back peddling started. google them and read what employee's have to say about them. Sounds like a wolf of wall street freight brokerage to me.

Lowmiler has it right add a TQL surcharge as they are all about them and the bottom line. They could care a less about you ,your drivers or weather or not the truck makes money it is all them all the time. Matrineav sometimes it is better to come home empty then to let them bend you over dry because it is slow. I would grab 2 skids for fuel before take some of the crap they offer.

Maybe I'm wrong, but there is no excuse for this. It's like saying the hitman that killed your kids was just trying to put food on the table. All this type of company accomplishes is to drive down rates and put the people that are actually doing the work out of business. My two cents...

Martinetav said it best, if you don't like the rate or the load, just don't take it, in the end we are our worst enemies if we accept conditions that don't make us happy
