Riviera
We've been using Riviera for the past few months, and we're pleased that everything has been done according to how we were told it would be done.. no surprises.
Clients have access to a 'fast credit' screen where brokers can be checked out right away, as to their payment histories and whether Riviera will accept them. The info is available instantly, unlike many websites which clog up and take forever. If it shows as unavailable, you can make a quick call to get the scoop, or generally see the info anyway, to make your own decision.
They are a 'non-recourse' factoring company, and depending on your volume each month, the fee ranges from 5% to 10%. Depending on how quickly you want to receive your payment and which bank your deal with, you can get payment as soon as 8 hours.
If a company should go bankrupt, you're covered, provided the company was approved when submitting the invoice.
You don't have to factor whichever companies you don't want to factor, you can pick and choose if you want.
For us, we have looked at it as a cost of doing business, like insurance. At some point it would be nice to not have the expense, but during these times of companies disappearing rather quickly and without much notice, I can at least sleep at night.
