I am seeing more and more trucking Bankruptcies. It seems that things are getting worse. Am i correct?
Can anything be done if someone files for bankruptcy? Can we still pursue the shipper and receiver? What if your name is not listed on bankruptcy papers?

2 things - live on link die on link you need your own customers to get through slow freight times otherwise you are losing money on every mile you turn. A good number of these bankruptcies are because insurance - companies can possibly not afford the new premiums or they just do not have insurance at all. It would be interesting to see how many close their doors on the day their insurance expires.

Funny. All while I'm having troubles paying for the LINK. I wish there was a cheaper option. Does anyone know of another Loadboard option in Canada?

I do have many direct customers. Ive been trying to expand with Owner operators but that hasn't worked out well. i hire two, then two leave.....

What do truckers and brokers do that don't want to use link? Does everyone in the industry frown upon other boards?

I didn't use any load board for the first two years in business. As I started out with little volume I could spend the time to call around and ask carriers.. That worked well until things got busier, These days I use IT... for my truckload. But honestly there's much to be said for not relying too much on any board... one can become complacent.. as a broker part of my job is to understand the carrier landscape.. i.e. what carriers run what lanes and which are good for primary and secondary lanes and on what days etc. That's after all what shippers expect me to know..Nevertheless as lanes change and carriers change or if I get an order that falls outside of my normal lanes then I post.. but mostly to build my carrier base.
