Wish I would have caught this post ahead of time, CSA scores were a little iffy but no red flags initially. Contracted Mid Star to haul a load from DE, went to the shipper and loaded a shipment that has nothing to do with us going 300 miles away from our contracted destination, brought it across the border. After days of having issues track and tracing and just generally being hard to deal with lying about being onsite and missing picks with same day notice etc, we had the shipper agree to pay them directly for the load as neither the shipper nor receiver in this case are clients of ours. Boy was that a mistake, after Mid Star sent the shipper an invoice and everyone generally agreeing to the price they decided to hold the load in their yard in Maple ON because they couldn't get the receiver on the phone or they didn't get an email back from the shipper not entirely clear? So now the shipper is trying to track their load, Mid Star apparently incapable of using the phone can't be bothered to call anyone, and the load is not delivered after 24 hours and 267 miles. Please note there are phone numbers for the company that loaded and the receiver all over the BOL they have in hand since loading Wednesday. Admittedly I lost my temper several times, a level of incompetence I have not seen in some time pushed me over the edge, not proud of that fact but also not certain it would have changed the outcome to remain calm as I had already done that for 3 days prior to this SNAFU.
Now I am trapped between trying to keep things kosher with the shipper who is my clients supplier, and trying to get this carrier to deliver the freight so they are paid in full (I don't know if they back charge for delays and the like since I don't work for the shipper directly).
I would not use this carrier if they were the last truck on the face of the earth and promptly cancelled any other freight we had booked with them. I would rather loose the load then go through this level of stupidity again which pretty much sums up my review.
