Carbon Tax

April 1st is approaching yet again and with it comes another increase to the Federal Carbon Tax bringing it to $0.1073 per Litre on Diesel. How have you dealt with this added expense, have you added a carbon tax surcharge? Lumped it in with fuel surcharge? built it into rates/increases? other ideas?

Mostly lumped in with the other charges. I've gone to charging my customers a flat rate that includes the fuel surcharge and would include any carbon pricing as well, with quoted rates generally good for a specified period.

Built into rates - also increase in fuel - some customers find it easy to understand 'all in'.... so as of April an email went out that our rates on regular lanes will be increasing by X%
