Ouch. We're not all like that.Factoring companies... are all pretty much the same. The skim another layer of profit from the carrier but offer some protection from slow paying brokers.
We pay our carriers in 30 days from receipt of the invoice.
Still... even with our payment history... the Factors are pushy, rude and threatening. They're not all that far from your average bottom feeding collections agent.
But... with so many small fleets out there these days where the owner may be driving themselves and may not be a "customer based carrier" using brokers to fill the gaps these factoring companies are gaining strength in the industry.
The only collection calls our A/P get are from factors... Not dealing with carriers that go through factoring companies is something that has been discussed a few times here.
Really you must be the only one that isn't.Ouch. We're not all like that.
I let my clients bill their customers directly via email with me in cc. That way I know you have received the invoice without delay. I could generalize about poor payers being PITAs too, but that wouldn't be fair, would it?Really you must be the only one that isn't.
Factoring companies are a PITA. Sorry we sent the bill to you 30 days after the carrier did the load but it is due yesterday and we will have to call eqifax and screw up your credit rating online. Bottom feeders all of them.
