Called me on a load yesterday. We came to a mutual agreement on price and he was dispatching his truck at 9.30 am for a load in Guelph. At 130 he called and truck had issues and would not be able to be at the shipper until 230-3pm maybe. Problem was shipper closes at 2 and he knew that right from the start. One and only dealing with them.
Update on these guys , Picked up and delivered on time, My only concern was the truck had Quebec plates and was under a numbered Quebec company, We questioned the Vanak dispatch and we are being told that this is their Quebec division, We asked the driver and he stated he has never heard of Vanak Transportation, So I am thinking this has double brokered written all over it, Needless to say they have made our DNU list
The last load we did with them: day of pick-up, no updates until 11 AM. Bullshit updates from this point on, driver was an hour way, 2h later he was to be there in 3 hours. What happened in the meantime? They don't know and don't care. Finally got in touch with the driver himself, who was lost (going to Quebec City from Montreal, mind you), apparently they gave him the wrong address too!
During transit, the team lost a whole day, because they BOTH went to sleep all day. Apparently the dispatch told them it was ok. I had to find a local carrier in Saskatoon to receive my freight late evening and redeliver locally, so that the drivers could keep on going and make all the deliveries within the week.
They are now giving us issues about facturing too. A NIGHTMARE to work with.
They are on my DNU list. They used to be really good until their dispatch team changed.
They stopped caring about picking up on time, delivering on time and answering update requests.
They used to handle a ton of freight for me, until they decided that crossing the border was a hassle and only sent their drivers to cross when they felt like it.
I would get a constant run around on how the driver was stuck at the border for hours, being inspected and that they broke the seal to look at the freight, yada, yada, yada. But low and behold when they finally did show up at the receiver, the seal was still in tact, not cut, broken or anything.
They could not provide any proof that they were even inspected. They pulled this excuse 3 times within in 2 weeks and each time couldn't prove that they got stopped at the border.
They figure their customers are stupid and wouldn't check up on it, mean while the trailer with our freight on it was in their yard and didn't move for 3-5 business days past when it was due to deliver. It truly isn't hard to check with customs to see if a truck was inspected.
