Hi everyone

My brother is In the process of opening a company based in Minneapolis MN. Was wondering making the Name simiar. Since we gonna share email, Tollfree and trailers.

Your input is welcome bad or good

I would be careful with that one. What if DOT does an audit and you have your American trucks and Canadian trucks mixed up in the paperwork. Would it not be the onus on you to prove that lets say your Canadian trucks were not interstating? I would check that with your legal department as this has a potential to fudge things unnecessarily and makes it difficult to distinguish the operations for authorities in both countries .

Trucks should be plated differently, according to terminals..
Then there's no mixup... IMHO..

The reason a lot of trucking companies split the companies into operating units is because one DOT# doesn't affect the other. Some split it Canada/US, other times it is for unknown reasons. But .... A LOT of trucking companies use the strategy of multiple operating companies under one brand.
