Dealt with Tony at SS Forwarding. Had a weekend move and his customer screwed up the paperwork twice on an Agriculture load and we sat at the border from 5:30 pm to 1:30 am and were only 1.5 hour late for our original delivery. He denied waiting time after promising he would take care of us at the time. Hit our DNU list.

S&S is on our Do not use list as well. They are liars and will not keep their word. Listen to others on here ...Dont fall for their BS !! They will delay sending a revised until load is delivered and then will never send agreed rate adjustment.

Alarm bells are making my ears bleed. Just like when brokers say they don't work with factors.
I don`t work with companies that use Factoring companies because factoring sucks the margin out of the carriers and eventually the Carriers go broke. If a carrier can`t run a trucking business without borrowing money for fuel for tomorrows loads its just a matter of time before they cant pay their drivers and my freight gets lost or delayed. So in a nutshell I don`t put myself in a position where my freight can get delayed indirectly due to Factoring companies, so I don`t deal with carriers that need factoring companies to operate.

A carrier using a factoring company doesn't bother me as much as a carrier who is constantly changing factors. Our accounting department is busy enough without having to keep both eyes open for new assignment notices and release letters.

I thought we had seen everything, I don't know who S&S are or what kind of company they are but when we asked for a Credit App here is their response:

Please cancel this order.
We do not fill out credit apps for carriers

That is so funny that they are offended you ask for their credit info...........All the major companies don`t mind, yet S&S is offended. That is the laugh of the day...............thank you I needed a Monday morning smile!

We've hauled for them 12 times this year and the longest they took to pay was 39 days. However I'd be a little dissatisfied (putting it mildly) with the broker if they replied like that after asking for a credit reference.

It's not about margins; it's about cash flow. Companies that are growing are almost always running at an operating cash flow deficit. Factoring directly addresses this problem and allows a company to continue growing. That said, gross margins in transport are extremely low (not unusual to see them below 10%) and under continuous pressure from rising costs (fuel, salaries, insurance). At the end of the day, factoring is a form of financial leverage, which can hasten the end of a company that isn't healthy or allow a well-managed one to prosper.

I was always against companies who factored but then someone asked me "why do we care how another company decides how to run their business?" If it works for them then that is all that matters and they provide us with good service.

If you as a supplier, continue to receive payment for your invoices in a timely manner, who cares where the money is coming from? I have found that over the last number of years, factoring companies have become much more experienced in transportation and as a result, most are fairly easy to deal with and understanding of potential problems,i.e. claims, back charges, etc. . Of course this is coming from someone who pays factoring companies, not employs their services.

I know some very good carries that used service of factoring companies to help them build there business and now do not use them. As in all things there is good and bad players. Our industry has a lot of grey areas and that is why we have so many scammers in it, if they can scam and not be caught it will not go away.

Oh , This Tony have screwed me very well one time. I was sent by him to pickup the LTL load 2 hours West away from Toronto. Load was not ready up until the next day. Since I already had freight in my truck that was also from Tony and it had to be delivered in Montreal next day, I had to turn around and get back to Montreal.

Tony never have bothered to compensate 5 hours of my time plus driving and in addition he demanded an early AM delivery in Montreal.

After that when I see Tony from S&S Forwarding on the loadlink I send him my spiritual " f&ck you
Tony" and hope he spills his tea on himself.

Stay away from these legalized thiefs and liars called S&S Forwarding. I have stopped dealing with them back in 2017 and have prospered ever since.
