OK -- thanks everyone!!! We just saved ourselves a big chunk of change. They are definitely double brokering AND forging shipping documents INCLUDING the PARS label in an effort to get quick pay!! Thought I had seen it all. We will be contacting the customs broker to find out who the actual carrier was on this load and we will contact this carrier to work out direct payment.
This site is working! We are making it harder and harder for these criminals to survive! Good work everyone!!

I noticed there are 3-4 threads that are opened on this site relating to Road Transportations Solutions. This indicates how serious the fraud is, it is so widespread we're now hearing of US victims also.

Can anyone confirm a relationship between M.Haris Transport, Ultime Transport and Road Transportation Solutions. I have been speaking to the RCMP in Montreal on a daily basis about new developements on these crooks.

Remember, Quebec Numbered Companies = BIG PROBLEMS I've been saying it for years and this is still an ongoing problem.

They are also doing work as Transport M Haris Inc. Caught them double brokering my shipment and changing bill of lading to show their own pars number on it!! Fortunately we were able to find the carrier who actually did the work and are in the process of reporting this activity to the authorities (they offered $400 more than we were paying them).

The person to talk to there is BOB BUSHNELL EXT. 3010 P:450-671-4484 BUT i don't know how much good it will do they are under investigation by the RCMP and will not be in business much longer so I suggest you call the shipper and or receiver if you want to get paid.

LOL Bob Bushnell just started there a couple weeks ago supposedly and damn near swallowed his face when I talked to him last week. I thought it was very funny they passed me off to the new guy when I called and confronted them.

Victims or anyone with information on Road Transportation Solutions or partners should call 1-800-771-5401 (Westmount RCMP) and speak to the Fraud Department.

I know I am repeating myself but numbered companies in Quebec that have ####-#### QUEBEC INC or ######### CANADA INC have played a major role in fraud in this scam and similar scams. We work hard for our money, let's keep it out of the hands of criminals.

Just my 2 cents on all of this
First GREAT WORK EVERYONE !!!! It shows that there is still people willing to fight to make this industry work ( so many of us have been hurt to many to list )
With the help of everyone reporting in both good and bad news, we'll have a chance to make it in the real world, of this evergrowing crazy industry.
Thanks to all that have helped me! Keep up the GOOD work !!

RTS or what they want to call themselves

Well, we got one too. RTS brokered our load out to another carrier for 500$ more then we agreed to pay them. We got them and made arrangements with the real carrier. Then to our surprise we received a POD from RTS, with thier PARS and even the signature was changed from the original doc's that crossed the border...
This is MADNESS! ARRGGH

Forging Paperwork

Double brokering is hard for the police to prove as fraud. That's why they won't investigate. They have to prove intent. That's super hard to do in court even when it's blatantly obvious. However, forging paperwork is obvoius and easy to present as evidence in court. If you caught them forging paperwork to get paid for a job they didn't do, then that's pretty cut and dried fraud. You should absolutely forward this to the police.

I had the same situation, but we checked the pars number online and when it came up invalid checked with the customs broker. We have now instituted a PARS/PAPS number required on all non-core carriers. It's more work to search every pars/paps, but these thieves have created the situation.

I live close to the address given in link for RTS and it is an old office building in St Lambert. The company name is not listed in the lobby nor is the present tennant. Link lists the suite as 401. I went up there and found another company name on the door. I posted all this info in some other location last friday and cannot find it now. Someone else later gave info on the comapny name I gave. They seemed not to be realted.
The question is hwere do the carriers being caught in this fraud send their mail, or are they simply using E- Mail or the Fax.
From what I have read here, there seems to be a lot of information from different sources detailing activities that seem fraudulent.
When approaching the police it is imperative that you stress the fact that a fraud is occuring and that you fear other carriers will get caught. This will oblige the Police to act , as at this point the isssue becomes a CRIMINAL matter and not a CIVIL matter.
The issue of you persuing RTS to re coup the monies lost is a civil matter and you will have to either get a lawyer or do this on your own.
These are two separate issues!!!!

Good advice Alx, Thanks.

We need to get 1 lawyer on this issue not several different lawyers, does anyone know a good lawyer in this area of Montreal that knows the trucking industry and will get us some results?

Where is this company operating from?

Private Prosecution

If the police or prosecutors in other Provinces won't act, you can lay a private information before a justice of the peace, and they have to review the evidence and then act on it if the evidence is valid. I have searched online without success to see if the Quebec Civil code also has the same provision. The internet is dark on this issue, but a Quebec based lawyer would be able to shed light on this possibility. If it is possible, then I would recommend that those stung by RTS consider doing so, as this may be the only way to stop this bad actor.

When I went to look at the Address given last week I noted that the suite next door is occupied by Barbara Knoetzel ( spelling needs to be verified) a local lawyer who has a column in the local newspaper. She may be interested in knowing who is using or has listed the sweet next door for Illicit business.
